Fireworks rules

The city’s own fireworks show is the Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza; see Fourth of July fireworks. For backyard fireworks, Local Memphis reported that Germantown’s ordinance makes anything related to fireworks illegal in the city, including making, storing, selling, handling or using them. The city’s published residential guides do not spell this out, so ask the Germantown Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau, 901-757-7269, before you light anything. Memphis prohibits fireworks inside city limits without a permit, the same report said.
