Germantown’s brunch is split between full-service restaurants with a weekend brunch menu and breakfast cafes open every morning. The weekend menus are at Stoney River, Forest Hill Grill and Moondance Grill; the cafes are along Poplar Avenue and West Farmington Boulevard. Listed in alphabetical order within each group; we do not rank them.

Weekend brunch menus

Forest Hill Grill is a locally owned bar and grill with local beers on tap. It runs Sunday brunch alongside its regular lunch and dinner menu, and lists a happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. weekdays.

Moondance Grill has served elevated Southern food in Germantown since 2019, it says, in the Thornwood development near GPAC. Its weekend brunch menu comes with a separate brunch cocktail list.

Stoney River says its Sunday brunch menu includes a lobster roll, shrimp and grits, steak and eggs and a chicken biscuit, with a brunch cocktail. It takes parties of seven to 25 in private dining.

Breakfast and brunch cafes

The Toasted Yolk Cafe calls itself a scratch-kitchen brunch spot, with a full bar serving mimosas, Bloody Marys and brunch cocktails, a patio and a digital waitlist you can join from your phone. Its signature dishes include a hashbrown casserole, brisket tacos, shrimp and grits and “The Classic Arnold,” its take on eggs Benedict on a biscuit.

Eggs Up Grill lists mimosas and a private meeting room at its Germantown location, and takes online and catering orders.

CitySilo Table + Pantry is open all day Monday through Saturday and for Sunday morning and lunch.

Coffee to go

In Thornwood’s Market Row, JoJo’s Espresso, 1730 S. Germantown Road, Suite 114, opens 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, according to Thornwood’s directory. Congregation Coffee is at 3060 Forest Hill-Irene Road (site).
